My principal interest lies in church projects. These range from new buildings, through commissions to adapt and re-order, to the conservation of historic church buildings and quinquennial inspections. I am accredited in building conservation under the AABC scheme, which involves periodic peer-review of my knowledge and experience in conservation work.
I take on a wide variety of other architectural projects, bringing to them my substantial experience of working for larger practices in London, Cumbria and Oxfordshire. I am regularly appointed by legal firms to provide expert witness services, acting also as a single joint expert where required.

I am registered with several Anglican Dioceses in the south of England to carry out quinquennial inspections under the Inspection of Churches Measure (1995), and I also carry out inspections for the Catholic Dioceses of Portsmouth and Birmingham and the URC Wessex Synod.
I would be interested in working in the same capacity for other denominations.
My services to these fellowships extend well beyond the quinquennial inspection: providing continuing advice on any building problems which occur, guidance on maintenance, and assistance with Faculty procedures.

The Ecclesiastical Architects' and Surveyors' Association (EASA) is a learned Society, founded in 1872 as the Ecclesiastical Surveyors' Association, to promote good standards of design and repair of ecclesiastical buildings, be they churches, chapels, halls, parsonage houses or similar buildings, across all denominations.
I have been a Member of the Association since 2001.
Since 2007 I have served as a member of the General Committee, and from 2007 to 2019 I was also the General Editor of the Association's Journal.
