The late Anthony Williams acted as guide and mentor to the fledgling practice and his presence is still felt today. At any time since its foundation, approximately half of all projects undertaken by the practice have involved working with existing structures - many of which are listed buildings, scheduled ancient monuments or buildings of special architectural or historic interest.
Other projects, often in conservation areas or similarly sensitive sites, include the design of new buildings mainly for residential, educational and primary healthcare as well as some commercial applications. Today the practice operates with a relatively small team of architects, technicians and administrative staff making use of an excellent network of specialist consultants to provide the necessary resources to respond to the individual requirements of each client brief.

More specialised design work for building systems, component design and technical publications is completed through Abita Design Limited, a separate design company established by Graham Frecknall to re-state basic principles of dimensional co-ordination and the relevance of component design for Modern Methods of Construction.
