The linear plan presented many challenges but the client endorsed our contemporary design with innovative lighting and ceiling treatment to transform the space. A contemporary dwelling in the countryside providing both a working environment and a relaxed home. The mature site provided immediate character and allowed the new house and carport to merge with the landscape.
The crucifix shaped floor plan has provided the subtle concept to the house for the local priest and this design in turn allows light to flood the interior. We have designed a growing number of bespoke private residences in N. Ireland and throughout Ireland. Our practice has an inherent interest in working with old buildings and is fascinated with the challenge of modifying an old structure to serve modern day requirements whilst retaining the charm and physical characteristics.
Raymond Goodwin Architects are on the RIBA Conservation Register and are in a position to facilitate those looking to commission work on heritage buildings.
