Countryside Consultants, Architects and Specialists in Building Conservation and all Rural Projects was established in 1986 and next year will celebrate 30 years in the delivery of a unique rural service. The practice is based at Alston, Cumbria in the heart of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its portfolio of projects reaching across the rural North of England, encompassing Cumbria, Durham, Northumberland and North Yorkshire.
We are passionate about our northern countryside and our built and cultural heritage and the main focus of our practice is distinctly rural. We have extensive experience working in conservation areas and protected landscapes and with Listed Buildings and Scheduled Ancient Monuments.
Over the years we have built up a wealth of experience in a diverse range of projects in the countryside, from community and economic development projects including farm diversification and tourism, to small scale residential development and individual barn conversions and extensions, with an ever increasing number of conservation projects both large and small.

Services
Our clients range from National Park Authorities and Government agencies, community groups and charities to land agents and individual clients, but whoever we are dealing with, our first concern is to provide a quality service at an affordable price.
We have long-standing relationships with many clients who appreciate our personal service and know they can trust us to deliver a successful project.
Our starting point is always to listen carefully to make sure we understand what our clients are trying to achieve, and where we are invited to tender we always aim to shape our proposals to meet the specific needs of each individual project.
