C H G Architecture
Our many years in architecture have given us experience of design and project management with new build houses, extensions, conversions and internal alterations as well as running multi-million pound public sector developments. We pride ourselves in creating spaces that enhance our clients lives and buildings that sit comfortably in their environment.

We believe in building good working relationships, with both our clients and contractors to ensure the delivery of solutions that best suit their lives, budgets and space. Before establishing CH+G architecture Ltd, Marcelo gained over 14 years of experience in architecture, working in small practices on high end residential projects and subsequently as Project Architect for one of Scotland's largest and longest established studios, managing the design and delivery of large scale education developments.

Through these years he built up the depth of knowledge required to manage varying project sizes. With an eye for detail and consideration of the big picture.
Services
You have to consider all the information that will be needed in order to have your first conversation.
Ie: what are you aiming to achieve, what is your budget, what type of time scale are you looking at?.
Once the potential client has contacted us, we will arrange to meet on site and discuss their ideas, requirements and budget.
From this we will go on to outline the brief for the project and produce a staged written quotation.
In it we will itemise our architectural fee and those of the local council and consultants such as engineers.
The existing property had a small dark kitchen with a pantry cupboard and deteriorating timber porch to the rear of the property.
Our proposal removed the pantry and cupboard walls and completed the corner, replacing the timber porch with large picture windows and roof lights to maximise the light and views to the garden.
Internally the existing kitchen was accessed through the dining room, which did not suit its new owners.
We created a new corridor through the cupboard under the stairs.
Additionally we created an inglenook office space off the dining room by reducing the size of the existing internal shower room.
Our client wanted to save the beautiful Coach House in the grounds of her home and convert it into a break out space for her growing family to relax, play and have parties.
It can also be used to accommodate guests and relatives on a semi self-sufficient base.
As the site is within a conservation area, our proposal concentrated externally on the rear elevation to maintain unchanged views to the building and street.
To maximise the sense of light and air we are replacing the existing rear brick elevation with glass curtain walling either side of the chimney, with folding glass panels creating a balcony.
Our client had bought his plot with Planning Permission for a house as part of a development of three houses, two of which had already been built.
He felt that existing plans did not maximise the site, nor satisfy his requirements for his growing family.
He asked that the scheme was redesigned in a style in-keeping with the two previously built houses, as this was a Planning condition from the council.
The main constraints of this project was fitting a four bedroom house onto a small plot located on a bend of a very busy village arterial road.
We have been working collaboratively with four water based clubs presently operating out of limiting conditions at Castle Semple Loch, to design a combined clubhouse which answers the differing developmental requirements of the individual sports, , uniting them harmoniously within one balanced scheme, whilst meeting the groups needs for durability and cost.
The building strives to create a sense of cohesion and unity between the disciplines, which have until now operated as seperate entities with little interaction.
