In 2009 we were awarded the 'South Norfolk Council Design Award for Self Build in Broome' - achieving a 'High Commendation' for new build. As part of the service I would liaise with planning, conservation and listed building departments during the project. This timber frame home includes glulam structural beams and posts to support the floors and roof.
The building is a highly insulated home featuring high performance timber windows and doors. Cedar boarding is used to finish the rear facing west elevation. This housing development of four bespoke houses was completed at the end of 2014. The picture shows the houses at the rear of the site accessed by a private drive; these two were completed early 2014.
A further two houses with road frontages are shown in the image below. The dwellings have purpose made oak staircases, oak entrance doors and tiled floors for a quality finish. Attic trussed roofs were incorporated to give useful roof storage space or future attic accommodation. This updated home in Norfolk is situated in a conservation area.
