We are architects with over 25 years experience of designing houses and buildings in Argyll and Stirling. Whether you are looking to create a new house, a renovation of an older property, or an alteration or extension to your home, we aim to exceed your expectations but not your budget. We believe that the role of the architect is to find solutions that their clients did not realise were possible.

To work with our clients in the design of space and light to inspire the people who will inhabit it. To design buildings which are rooted in the ground and respond to the environment in which they sit. To produce the necessary construction information to enable your contractor to carry out the work. To help you to find the right site using our knowledge of locally available building plots.
Services
Every project is unique - your particular requirements, the site conditions, Planning restrictions, Listed Buildings etc. will all have a major influence.
We cover a broad range of services and have the knowledge and experience to deal with most situations.
Where specialist advice is required we will be able to bring in other consultants to ensure that you get the best and most up-to-date advice.
New homes, extensions, community building: we've brought together some examples from our recent work that we hope will inspire.
We believe that the success of these projects is a tribute to the close relationship between architect and client that results from our personal service.
Sometimes even the simplest alteration can have a dramatic effect on the way in which you use a building.
The challenge was to design a house on a steeply sloping site, whilst ensuring that it was entirely suitable for a client with limited mobility, allowing full appreciation of the space, light and views.
Materials were chosen which would ensure that the building sits peacefully against a backdrop of birch trees.
Sometimes even the simplest alteration can have a dramatic effect on the way in which you use a building.
The addition of light, view, storage, a decent entrance which copes with the climate - any one of these can make a huge difference to your home.
Integrating building, landscape and garden, so that a few years on house & garden are now as one.
Entirely gutting an original building to add light and new views while retaining its original character.
Having purchased a somewhat utilitarian little house overlooking the sea, we asked Tom about how best to use the loft space.
Our client's decision to alter and extend Duine to form their full time home allowed the possibility of integrating the new parts of the building into the existing landscape features and the new garden.
It was important therefore to ensure that the new layout created external spaces while still fulfilling the brief for the internal space.
Completed a few years ago, the garden and house have become as one.
