Andrew has been delivering projects for over 30 years.
With his own practice since 1995, he has specialised in residential buildings and commercial fit-out projects.
Andrew has a special interest in sustainable design, particularly energy-efficient houses.
He has won a number of awards for his designs and his Flower House was built as one of the exemplars sustainable at Scotland's Housing Expo in 2010.
Alongside this is his interest in cross-laminated timber CLT construction, which combines the sustainability of timber with precise factory construction and rapid site erection.

We will then prepare and submit the applications and guide them through the process.

We have an excellent track record of achieving Planning Permissions and Listed Building Consents, even in very testing situations, and will be there, all the way, guiding you through the whole process.
We will then prepare and submit the applications and guide them through the process.
You don't always need Planning Permission for some small building works that don't impact on the surrounding area.

To get a building warrant, SHS BURRIDGE ARCHITECTS will prepare the necessary drawings for you following the Building Regulations and apply to your local council's building standards department.
Once SHS BURRIDGE ARCHITECTS have submitted your application, building standards will assess it to see whether it complies with building standards and issue an initial technical response.
This should take around four weeks, although this can vary depending on how complicated your project is and how busy they are.

Your building is Listed if it is of 'special' architectural or historical interest and as a consequence, receives protection under planning legislation.

It's a criminal offense to demolish, alter materially, or extend a listed building without Listed Building Consent.
However, you probably won't need Listed Building Consent if you're replacing old materials for new on a 'like-for-like' basis and the repair work doesn't affect the character of the building.
