Services
FAT was established in 1995 and has since gained an international reputation for excellence in designing contemporary projects.
We work collaboratively with our to develop their briefs into bespoke and extraordinary projects.
We work with cultural, commercial, government and private clients who include Igloo Regeneration, Urban Splash, BioRegional/Quintain, Tate, Grosvenor, Selfridges and Rotterdam City Council.
The directors are closely involved in the design of all projects, which are managed, by a project architect or leader in close contact with the client.
FATs urban design projects are concerned with creating vibrant, inclusive and sustainable places.
We have been involved in some of Britains highest profile regeneration masterplans including New Islington, Liverpool One and Middlehaven.
Our approach is informed by contextual research that is used to develop designs which are both unique and bedded into their environments.
We have developed urban planning projects for developers, government bodies and regeneration agencies including Bristol City Council, Rotterdam City Council and Marchday.
We have delivered domestic, leisure, office, retail, museum and restaurant interior projects.
Each has developed a nuanced understanding of our clients needs and aspirations and developed design responses which interpret these in original and striking ways.
Our experience of exhibition design recognises the curatorial ambition of our clients and develops projects which spatialise and materialise these concerns.
Our work creates environments which are both practical and engaging to their users.
Clients for interior design include Tate, Selfridges and KesselsKramer.
FATs design, installation and gallery based projects explore the potential of objects to perform as critically engaged entities.
Through material, form and use they develop a culturally rich approach where design is not only a solution to a problem but a way of describing the contemporary world.
Our design work has been exhibited internationally at venues including the MAK, Lucy Macintosh Gallerie and the V&A.
Our work is held in institutional and private collections.
