The practice was formed as a partnership in 1986 by Neil Poole and Jon Pattle, both of whom were brought up in Suffolk and studied at Bristol University in the 1970s. Richard Crosby joined in 2002 and is originally from a construction engineering background. Richard studied Architecture in London and became the third partner in 2008. Andy Acourt studied at Brighton University and joined the company in 2003, becoming an associate in 2009.
Jon, Neil and Andy are architects and members of the RIBA. Each new project is assigned to one person to head up the design process. We work side by side in an open plan office and have regular meetings to share ideas and to ensure cross-fertilisation between projects. The result is that each project benefits from a very high level of professional expertise, adding value at each stage.
