I am a registered Architect, member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and run a Chartered Practice. With over thirty years' experience of working across the East and West Midlands, I offer a tailored service to bring the best possible architectural design solutions to your project. I aim to explore design opportunities you never thought possible within your budget and delight you by bringing the extraordinary to what might otherwise be ordinary.

Based in Bingham, Nottinghamshire, I cover South and East Nottinghamshire, North Leicestershire and West Lincolnshire. Although electronic communication makes relatively long distance design management possible, I find personal contact and face to face meetings more beneficial and limit my radius of operation to offer the best individual service I can.

I have worked at senior level for some of the largest Architectural practices in the Midlands acquiring a wealth of experience that I can bring to any project regardless of size. Having successfully managed multimillion pound projects in the past, in 2012 I returned to my true passion of designing for private clients and smaller companies who share my ambition of making the most of every design opportunity.
Services
My expertise is in guiding clients through the seemingly overwhelming wall of legislation.
Breaking the process into logical step by step stages helps make sense of the system.
From project start to completion I offer many services.
I am able to undertake all or some of the below as appropriate to each project.
The majority of my service is from taking the initial brief through the design and planning stage and up to obtaining Building Regulations Approval.
I aim to offer a robust package of information containing sufficient information for a competent builder to give a fixed price to and build successfully using their own knowledge and skills.
For many, the opportunity of building their own home is a dream.
My aim is to make this dream come true by guiding clients through the process of self-building.
In the United Kingdom, self-building accounts for less than 10% of annual house building market whilst on the continent the proportion is considerably more.
The majority of people accept what is on offer through estate agents and from large housing developers and assume having anything tailored to their individual needs and likes is too difficult or expensive to achieve.
Increasingly, my clients are asking me to find ways of adding space to their existing properties to avoid the disruption of moving.
As with individually designed houses, this is an opportunity to adapt a property to individual needs.
If you like an area, use the local facilities, why move?
Finding a cost-effective solution to changing circumstances and a growing family is a design challenge I enjoy and warrants as much attention as any project regardless of size.
How buildings are used, how the spaces flow, how they adapt for entertaining and as children and all of us get older are important considerations.
Our country has a rich history and building heritage with many properties being within conservation areas or listed.
Older buildings have survived because of their adaptability.
Evolving needs of successive generations have left their mark and added to history.
Carrying on this tradition to preserve, enhance and be fit for the future is essential to help keep our varied and exciting history alive.
Whilst respecting the past we can make our current mark and add to the history of an evolving property.
