After qualifying at Portsmouth School of Architecture in 1985, Gregory Basmadjian joined the Southampton Office of MWT Architects, becoming an Associate in 1987 and transferring with the Directors in 1992. He held the associateship under the Company of Design Group and later under the Partnership of Pope Priestley Associates. In 1998, he left PPA to become a Director of PEP Architects Limited.
He has since founded his own practice under KVB Architects, with his offices based at Tring in Hertfordshire. Gregory Basmadjian is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and a past member of the Society of Architectural Illustrators. He has held the post of Hon. Secretary of the RIBA Central Hampshire Branch for 3 years, and been involved in a number of Architectural events organised by that Branch.
He is approved under the Achilles Link-Up Certification (Member no 21971) for railway-related projects. Projects for which he has had responsibility have ranged from residential developments in the private and public sectors, leisure, commercial office developments and specialised industrial units, to refurbishment and new-build railway stations.

An existing old bungalow unit in a forest setting in Leighton Buzzard was demolished in 2010 to make way for a large contemporary family dwelling, comprising 3 large bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, open living /kitchen/dining areas at ground floor, feature corner atrium and balconies, and with an integral triple garage.
Design required careful consideration in respect of the several protected mature trees and the site's location in an Area of Special Character.
The existing thatched property has undergone a major refurbishment with rear wing extensions to provide the owners with a new family dwelling, comprising 4no bedrooms, living room/2 receptions, kitchen/utility areas, enclosed swimming pool and integral double garage.
Design required careful consideration in respect of the several protected mature trees and the site's location in an Area of Special Character.

The existing low category station at Brentford was upgraded in a joint initiative of the London Borough of Hounslow and GlaxoSmithKline, supported by South West Trains and Network Rail (then Railtrack).
Redevelopment comprised extensive new facilities, including secure Ticket Office, booking hall/concourse and tenancies.
New stairs and lift towers were also provided for access to both platforms, including a new footbridge link over, with improved bus interchange services off Boston Manor Road.
The completed project was awarded "Highly Commended" in the Best Small Station of the Year 2003 competition.

The Victorian properties form a semi-detached house (referred to as "artisanal cottage " style) typical of the Albert Street frontages, and are located in a Conservation Area.
As such, any changes to the properties were strongly resisted by the Planners.
Working closely with the Conservation Officer over 2 years, KVB Architects produced a design solution which met both Planners' and Clients' requirements.
Use of identical twin pitched roofs to the two storey rear extensions, incorporating skirted mono-pitched roofs at ground floor level create a sympathethic and sub-servient form to the rear.
As such, any changes to the properties were strongly resisted by the Planners.
