Johnson Designs, established in 1992, is an award winning architectural technology practice specialising in home extensions and new build individual houses. Based in Chichester and Four Marks, the Practice has successfully prepared many hundreds of designs and building drawings for Planning and Building Regulation requirements. Typical examples of our projects include; single and two storey extensions, loft and garage conversions, garden rooms, annexes and outbuildings and home offices. We also have an excellent track record in obtaining planning permission for new houses and extensions in difficult locations. Working with the Local Authorities across southern England, we prepare all the necessary forms and documentation for Local Authority submissions and liaise with the Planners and Building Control Officers.

We also work in conjunction with Structural Engineers and Energy Consultants and pride ourselves in giving you a totally personal service creating individual designs in both traditional and contemporary styles and provide ideas on how to create cost effective, attractive and functional designs tailored to suit your needs.

Johnson Designs successfully carried out this project within the green belt, creating a large 3 bay garage with workshop and annex accommodation within the cavernous roof space.
Create a low cost detached house in a very small and narrow town centre plot without over development of the site.
We identified the potential of the garden space of an ex-Local Authority town centre dwelling.
The many difficult planning issues raised by this project were overcome and Planning and Building Regulation permissions were obtained for a small, detached house with 2 double bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room, a kitchen and WC.
This was a first time buyer self-build project.
