No matter how well captured, there is a fundamental architectural characteristic that photography cannot fully capture, an aspect that words cannot fully describe. David has provided architectural advice to Grand Designs, The Sunday Times and at Grand Designs Live events. He is a regular expert contributor to Homebuilding & Renovating magazine. He has written a series of free, downloadable guides for those considering embarking on a project.

Services
He is a personal tutor for post-graduate students as part of the RIBA professional qualification programme for office based candidates, called RIBA Studio.
The programme is run with Oxford Brookes University and enables candidates to undertake RIBA parts 1, 2 and 3 courses whilst in gainful employment.
Previous to this, for over five years David held the post of a design tutor on the architecture degree course at Kingston University.
He has also been a visiting studio lecturer at the Bartlett, University College London and Sheffield Universities.
He is very organised and communicates very well across all parties so everyone knows where they stand.
He's very good at sticking to deadlines and works well with builders onsite.
We both like David's choice of materials and contemporary concepts.'
A lot of other architects did not fully engage with us and often went off on a tangent with their own personal ideas.
We felt that David understood exactly what we wanted from day one, which made things pretty easy for us.'
Right from the start David incorporated all our ideas, using photos of things we liked, especially with windows and finishings.'
Extraordinary bespoke homes in urban and rural locations across the country, are designed by David from his London studio.
From barn conversions and renovations to new build one-off houses and extensions, David takes an active approach from inception to completion.
He is the single point of contact for clients throughout the architectural process, from the early ideas to on-site supervision.
David's personable nature, combined with over 30 years experience and a depth of technical knowledge informs a pragmatic design process.
David understands that you might need to visit several sites before finding the one that is right for you.
For this reason he offers a site appraisal service.
Be they agricultural or industrial buildings for conversion, or possible sites for new build dwellings, David will discuss a site's potential, identify possible issues and highlight opportunities.
A report summarising these investigations together with recommendations is issued to the client.
David is happy to host meetings in many formats depending on the requirements of individual clients.
David offers a full architectural service from the inception of a project through to its completion.
This journey is split into design stages following the development of the project and the need for co-ordination with other consultants.
As a RIBA Chartered Practice, these work stages follow the RIBA Plan of Work, the industry standard widely recognised by construction professionals.
David will provide information and fee proposals outlining the viability of the project and how it might be organised.
