Alpex Architecture
Alpex Architecture is a young practice with an international education and experience. Having evolved from Alpex Architecture & Engineering and IDP Construction Ltd we continue to practice our core values that are intertwined with our ambition. As architects in design and construction we recognise that our responsibility is inextricably bound to the physical and human environment.

Our work is not an intervention into the built environment, but implicitly aware of its context, place and continuity within it. We consider architecture, not as a collection of materials combined in situ, but material as holding the capacity to constitute presence of space. From masterplanning to design, from tender to construction, Alpex Architecture offers a comprehensive architectural service.

Design and construction are consistently maintained in a collaboration and dialogue from the departure of a project to its conclusion. Ensuring both design and construction are simultaneously achieved to the highest of standards.
Services
The project is a full renovation and fit out of a listed Mansion apartment in Kensington.
The property has a wide main reception room opening towards the pedestrian Canning passage, a large family room, kitchen, 4 bedrooms, 4 shower rooms, of which three are en-suite plus a bespoke walk-in wardrobe in the master bedroom.
It has been designed to meet the client's expectation of high-quality finishes and contemporary design in respect of the original features, as high ceilings and traditional sash windows.
The project consists in a two storey side extension, and excavation at rear to build lower ground floor area below existing rear extension.
The concept is to extend the property to provide more space for a family of five by adding extra living space and playing area, and well proportioned bedrooms at first floor.
In fact with the side extension at a first floor the study can be converted into a double bedroom and the family bathroom can be extended, and at ground floor a study/guest bedroom and shower room will be available for the grandparents when visiting the children.
The renovation and extension of that 1900 semi-detached house has been designed with the aim to create a spacious living area at the rear and a loft master bedroom with en-suite overlooking the garden and extended green area at the back.
The simplicity of the material and colour chosen by the client has made that house a nice white canvas to warm up with the family input.
As the heart of the house, a kitchen is the signature of its residents and the centre of everyday life.
Having that in mind, in our kitchen designs, we take into consideration the personal needs of our clients while making the most of our architectural knowledge.
As professional architects, we like to think of the kitchen as being an integral part of the house.
We always adjust our designs to the unique interplay of daylight and artificial lighting of a given space, and use top-quality materials with an impressive look that will last for many years.
As human beings our perception of the space is defined through physical materials andlight.
Light is revealed to the human eye through interaction with other materials, whilematerials often depend on light to justify their existence.
They need each other to exist andthey can't be separated, being interlinked to a point that each one defines the other andtherefore light became a material itself.
Light is a material we use as one of the primary elements of our architectural designAlso, the permeability of other materials selected for our design contributes to enhancinglight and defining space.
