The Architectural Forum
The Architectural Forum Ltd by Jason and Nadine Davies, was established in 1988 and has since strived to offer the best architectural antiques at a very competitive price. We are proud to offer honest, friendly advice and assistance, whatever you may be looking for. At The Architectural Forum, we are very conscious of the importance of reclaiming and salvaging, and the positive impact on our global resources and environment.

We believe it is imperative to reclaim, refurbish and reuse as much as possible, as this puts less pressure on resources and stops the items simply going to landfill. With our emphasis on refurbishing and restoring, we are proud to be preserving the valuable skills of yesteryear, and giving antique items a second life and a chance to be appreciated by future generations.

On the surface, the process of salvaging parts from an old building can seem relatively straightforward, but it is often a very challenging and pressured task, full of complications! Once onsite, Jason and the team often have very little time to recognise and remove the key pieces that are of salvageable and saleable condition.
Services
After 35 years in Islington we are closing the doors of our Essex Road showroom and now consolidating showroom, restoration workshops and reclamation yard to one 18,000ft site in Hertfordshire.
In the troubled climate of today, salvaging, reusing and repurposing items has never been so important.
We are proud to be a small family run business with a genuine love for all things reclaimed and offer a reliable and friendly customer service.
We will be offering site visits where needed to assess and advise on design aesthetic, installation logistics and other queries you may have especially for items such as fireplaces which we have become so highly-regarded for.
Our Hertfordshire warehouse is open on Saturdays 10am-5pm.
Visits during the week are very welcome but by appointment only.
The warehouse is a very large space so please allow yourself plenty of time to navigate your way around, we recommend a minimum of an hour depending on what you require.
If you have one, bring a tape measure - although we have them onsite they are like gold dust!
Due to the nature of our items and the restoration works in progress, the warehouse and yard has hazardous areas and bringing small children is not advised.
Whether it will hold a roaring open fire, a tidy wood burner, a gas fire or simply a few decorative candles, the fireplace is the focal point in any room, so it's important to get it right.
When people come in to the showroom to choose a fireplace for their property, our first question to them is invariably What age is your house?
The majority of our customers are looking to reinstate original features in period properties, so it's important to get an idea of the style and era of the house; whether it's a grand Georgian mansion, a modest Victorian terrace or a quirky Arts & Crafts villa.
Whether you're renovating a period home and want to reinstate original features, or you simply love the look of them, deciding that you want cast iron radiators is only the first of many decisions!
When you visit our showroom to enquire about reclaimed radiators, we'll have a chat and consultation to find out exactly what you need and want for your home, to ensure that at the end of the process you have the perfect radiators installed.
You may also want to collect a few examples of what you've seen and liked in other people's houses, or perhaps interiors featuring cast iron radiators on blogs or design websites, to help you get a better idea of exactly the look and style you want to go for.
Wood burning stoves have become very popular over the past few years and it's easy to see why.
Stoves offer a convenient, fuss-free, clean and efficient method of giving extra heat to your home.
The range of DEFRA-approved stoves means that you can burn wood within the smokeless zone encompassing London.
We offer a wide range of stoves, all manufactured entirely within the UK to the highest standards.
They are manufactured in Yorkshire and come with a ten-year guarantee.
The first thing you will need to do is get your flue tested.
